'Melting Highway': I-95 Collapse Caused By Tanker Fire In Philadelphia

Part of Interstate 95 running through Philadelphia collapsed after a tanker underneath it caught fire early Sunday, June 11.

The 6 a.m. eruption happened between Exit 32 for Academy Road and Exit 30 for Cottman Avenue in Tacony, Pennsylvania State Police said.

All lanes were closed indefinitely, with some local streets closed, too.

One Twitter user said it looked as though the highway was melting.
